Counselling Can Help
Counselling can help you to make sense of your experiences, past and present. It can help you to understand how patterns of behaviour from your past may impact on your experiences in the present. It can support you through difficult periods in your life and provide a safe, supportive place where you can explore your feelings. Counselling can help bring positive changes. Some of the things that may bring a person to counselling are:
- Relationship difficulties
- Anxiety, depression or stress
- Anger
- Sexuality
- Problems with food
- Low self esteem
- Guilt
- Lack of direction
- Transitions e.g. children leaving home, retirement
- Childhood abuse
- Bereavement
- Lack of confidence
- Decision making
- Rape and trauma
This is certainly not an exhaustive list. Some people seek counselling simply because they wish to learn more about themselves.
